1. Where are you from?
I am from Dewsbury in West Yorkshire.
2. Where did you study?
Manchester University for my Bachelor’s degree, then Sheffield University for my post graduate diploma.
3. Where did you work previously?
I have worked clinically as a physiotherapist in Lincolnshire, Mid Yorkshire hospitals and Calderdale and Huddersfield hospital trusts, as well as in community long term neurological conditions. Since leaving clinical practice I have worked for Corpore Ltd and Tania Brown Ltd as a case manager and Jacqueline Webb as an Expert witness.
4. What gets you out of bed in the morning?
My dogs mainly, but the need to achieve something meaningful that day.
5. What’s an average day look like for you?
Lots of dog walking, weekdays its time in my office or with clients, and then coming home to my animals. At weekends I watch Rugby being an avid fan, I spend time with my grandsons and when I can with friends. I am also a keen motorcycle rider in the good weather.
6. What’s been the single best moment of your career?
There have been a number of them but one that always sticks out to me was getting a lower limb amputee client back on his motorcycle with the right prosthesis and minor adjustments to his bike. He achieved the one thing that was so important and I helped with that.
7. Where do you see yourself in 5 years’ time?
Probably still doing my best for my clients, with a few more grey hairs and wrinkles and maybe some more grandchildren.
8. If you didn’t do this job – what would you do?
I would probably run an animal sanctuary. In all honesty I am that person who takes on animals who are abandoned.
