Natalie takes on epic skydive for charity!

Our very own Natalie Pope, Case Manager Assistant is taking on the ultimate challenge and taking part in an epic skydive all to raise money for Headway Blackpool Wyre & Fylde.

Natalie is hoping to raise awareness and funds for this charity and the people they support; those with brain injuries, their families and carers.

Headway Blackpool Wyre and Fylde provide drop-in services to members bi-monthly so that they are able to socialise in a safe environment, free from isolation or judgement. The charity arranges events throughout the year such as summer day trips, Christmas parties, fish and chip suppers and a pancake party to name but a few. Headway Blackpool Wyre and Fylde also arrange therapeutic training sessions in areas such as anger management, relaxation and physiotherapy as well as providing education sessions on brain injury awareness and first aid for members.

Headway Blackpool Wyre and Fylde are passionate about helping and supporting local people who have suffered an acquired brain injury. They are extremely proud of the service they provide to their members, their carers, family and friends.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic Headway Blackpool have had to cancel all physical gatherings, in order to protect members (some of whom are the most vulnerable in our communities), they have instead moved to online meetings and phone calls in order to keep communication and support going with all members, their families and carers. Giving a break from social isolation and helping with issues of mental and physical health.

Headway Blackpool’s main source of funding is via fundraising events and generous donations from local businesses and residents. The pandemic has meant a significant loss in the charity’s fundraising.

  • The expected date of the skydive is 17th September 2021.
